My absolute favorite part of my work as a personal matchmaker is the initial consultation with a brand new single man or single woman whom I’ve not yet met. To me, this initial dating coaching consultation feels like opening up a birthday present, as I never know what’s really inside until we have this chance to be together, focused on YOUR love life. I meet with dating coaching clients by phone or by Skype Mondays through Saturdays, and in person too, by appointment – lots of options.
What happens during Julie Ferman’s consultations?
My initial dating consultation (in person, by phone, or by Skype) is not a sales meeting, as it’s not designed to “sell” a matchmaking program or dating service membership. Not at all, in fact. My consultation is meant to be a service oriented session, designed to help put you on track to achieve your goals for your personal life. During the consultation we gain clarity regarding the type of person you really are, and the type of person you are envisioning as your future partner, and together we create your Romance Marketing Plan, which may or may not include a recommendation for personal matchmaking. We’ll talk about what’s worked well for you and what hasn’t, and we’ll create your game plan for the next six to twelve months of your romantic life.
The consultation service is also meant to be a bit of a reality check, as we’ll study lots of real, live potential candidates together, to talk frankly yet compassionately about your chances of attracting into your life the type of person you’re hoping to meet. Are you targeting the right type of people? Are you shooting out of your league? Should you be more discerning and selective or less? Are you taking advantage of the right resources and opportunities to meet great people on your own? How are your flirting skills? Where are your blind spots? Do you current photos represent you accurately and in a way that will serve to attract the right people? I love taking fun, casual dating photos during our in-person consultations, and I’ll email them to you afterward, for use anywhere you like.
The nature of blind spots is that we can’t see our own, and this consultation is a chance to work with a seasoned matchmaker and Los Angeles dating coach to determine if the way you’re doing dating is likely to succeed, and also to explore alternative solutions, including online dating, singles events, meet-up groups and potentially personal matchmaking.
We’ll create your personal Romance Marketing Plan, which includes the description of you and of the person you’d like to meet. We’ll take some fun dating photos, which you can use here with me on your matchmaking profile as you’ll be eligible as a candidate for referral current and future clients, and I’ll email the photos to you, so you can use them elsewhere as well, if you like.
How much does it cost to meet with Julie Ferman?
The fee for my 50-minute dating consultation (by phone or Skype) is $295. In person consultations are $495 in Westlake Village, CA. And if we do choose to enter into a personal matchmaking agreement, the consultation fee applies toward that program. Why don’t I offer my initial consultation for free?
The dating agencies that are looking to sell lucrative matchmaking programs to as many new clients as possible – those agencies will often provide the initial consultation for free. That’s not what I’m up to here in my world. What serves people better, I find, is for us first to do an in-depth coaching session together, for a reasonable fee, which provides lots of value for you, and which serves to get you “in” here with me as a trusted candidate, eligible for referral to current and future clients. I’ll only suggest personal matchmaking for you if we determine together that this higher level service is likely to be a good fit for us both.
How much does it cost to work with a personal matchmaker?
Matchmaking fees typically range from $5,000 – $10,000 – $15,000, and some matchmakers charge lots more for their services. Personally, I like short-term, reasonable programs that are conservative and low-risk for both of us. Matchmaking isn’t for everyone, and we can’t promise relationship or even second and third dates. When we take on a new matchmaking client, we’ll be providing introductions with the most fitting candidates available to us, given who the client is, the type of person the client is ideally looking to meet, who’s available for referral at that moment in time, and who’s also interested in this particular client. We can’t guarantee relationship for our clients.
Are there people out there that aren’t a good fit for personal matchmaking?
You bet. So many of the single people I meet and talk with by phone are not really good candidates for personal matchmaking, as their preferences and requirements aren’t in line with reality, or at least the reality that I’m likely to be able to provide as a Los Angeles / Ventura County Matchmaker, and we don’t really know that until we do the consultation. Our time together is an opportunity to gain clarity on what your goals are for dating, to get you positioned here for referrals when you’re matching up nicely with current and future clients, and to really find out if matchmaking might be a potential fit for you, either with me or with one of my colleagues.
